Not so awesome: Steubenville

No awesome post today.
I'm taking a break from the awesomeness to post about a matter that is sick, disgusting and  makes me wanna punch somone in the face.
The Steubenville rape case.
How  the people of Steubenville, or anywhere, can support these two young boys is beyond my understanding. No matter how drunk she was, rape is still rape. What's more disgusting is the way the media has handled this. CNN for example, in their report from the courtruling, only mentions the defendants, how their lives are ruined by this ruling and so forth. Let me tell you something CNN, their life is not ruined by the SENTANCE. They themself ruined it the moment they chose to RAPE that girl!
This behaviour is unacceptable!
Encouraging, even celebrating rape!?!?! What is this madness? What has this world come to, when the perpetrator is pitied and the victim patronized?
Sure, nobody forced the victim to drink and that was stupid of her, but THEY forced her , while she was unconscios, to do things with a sexual context, without her consent.
The very definition of rape.
No one forced THEM to do that. They did it out of their own free will, against hers. That's not "boys beeing boys" as one news station so "nicely" put it, I've been a horny, drunk sixteen year old boy myself, I know.
That is sexual assault.
That is taking advantage of someone.
That is degrading and humiliating another human beeing.
That is RAPE
Nothing else.
The evidence speaks for itself, and those boys deserve what's coming for them.

Laurie Penny of NewStatesman has written a better article on this mather than I ever could.
Also, punk legend Henry Rollings, who really has a way with words, wrote a blog, wich a think comes close to the core of the problem with rape.
You'll find links to both of them down below, please read them.
